Gait Training and Lumbar Stabilization with Terri Mitchell
We will review the different phases of gait on land, and muscle activity with each phase. We will discuss gait deviations in patients with orthopedic and neurological issues and make long and short term goals. We will perform water exercises to improve gait to meet goals.
From SI joint dysfunction to Stenosis to disk issues to lumbar fusion - how can we safely and effectively rehab and stabilize the spine of these patients? We will review these diagnoses and discuss treatment techniques in the lecture. This workshop will review videos of vertical and supine exercises and treatment techniques that will help to restore optimal biomechanics and decreased pain. Incorporate evidence-based practice into your aquatic treatment plan for pelvic pain. A comprehensive handout and action plan is included.
